Progress in sustainable manufacturing is a crucial element to minimise negative environmental impacts. The conventional fusion weld process used join aluminium alloys resulted coarse grain structure, inevitable defects, and severe joint softening. Friction stir processing (FSP) has the potential modify microstructure of materials structure improve mechanical properties. In this investigation, effect friction post–processing was evaluated study microstructural characteristics properties GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding) welds 5052 alloy. During FSP, grains’ dendritic destroyed, dynamic recrystallisation very fine equiaxed grains zone. hardness friction-stir-processed significantly improved because refinement. processed demonstrated higher ultimate tensile yield strength (~275 MPa 221 MPa, respectively) superior elongation (31.1%) compared unprocessed weld; at same time, (yield tensile) similar that base metal.
